Ciggarett lighter didn’t work. Figured to check fuses. This is what I found. Wonder what was hooked up? Any ideas?

Do you have an aftermarket stereo system? If you did buy the vehicle used, did the previous owner have anything aftermarket installed and then removed? Maybe, there was perhaps a amplifier, rechargeable port, or they tried to hotwire the vehicle at some point. I have no idea.

Ah the good ole live wire buried in the dash. My brother in law did my stereo and some how my autostick got disconnected (it needs constant 12v). I forgot I had one wire that was a tap, one that was a fuse tap, and one straight from the battery. Thankfully I got smart and went back, rewired everything and added some inline fuses.

Bought it from dealer used. When I got it the old owner traded it in very recently

It’s got to be from that owner then. Also, what better way to make sure something gets past service for reconditioning? Have a buyer want to purchase the vehicle.

When I was in high school my parents bought me a proper head unit and new speakers for my truck for Christmas. The install guy some how wired it to the blinkers. Went to leave and put on my blinker and the radio shut off. Turned around and an hour later it was right.

Luckily I had them do a “we owe” and gave them the car for two weeks to fix stuff in and out of the car. They definitely lost quite a bit. But it moved out of their lot fast.

Which reminds me, I recently got a used Lexus IS300.

The previous owner installed an aftermarket stereo and I hear a whine from the speakers thats proportional to how hard I accelerate. Im not really sure how to address that...
